# Add Hello Clever to WooCommerce

> Install and configure the Hello Clever Gateway plugin for WooCommerce, then enable express checkout or one-click checkout on your WordPress store.

This page walks you through installing and configuring Hello Clever on a WooCommerce store. You will install the plugin from the WordPress plugin directory, connect it with your Merchant Dashboard credentials, and optionally enable express checkout or one-click checkout to reduce friction at the point of purchase.

## Requirements

<Info>
  Hello Clever is currently available for WooCommerce merchants with store addresses in **Australia**. Only **AUD (Australian Dollars)** is supported at this time.
</Info>

Before installing the plugin, verify that your environment meets the following requirements:

* **WordPress**: version 4.4 or greater. You can find your WordPress version in the bottom-right corner of the WordPress Admin Dashboard.
* **WooCommerce**: version 2.6 or greater. Navigate to **WordPress Admin > Plugins > Installed Plugins** to check the installed version.
* **Store currency**: set to **AUD**. You can configure this in **WooCommerce > Settings > General**.

## Install the plugin

    In your WordPress Admin Dashboard, go to **Plugins > Add New**.

  <Step title="Search for Hello Clever">
    Type **Hello Clever** in the keyword search box.

  <Step title="Install and activate">
    Locate **Hello Clever Gateway for WooCommerce** in the results and click **Install Now**. Once the installation completes, click **Activate**.

## Configure the plugin

  <Step title="Open plugin settings">
    In WordPress Admin, go to **Plugins > Installed Plugins**. Find **Hello Clever Gateway for WooCommerce** and click **Settings**.

  <Step title="Navigate to the Hello Clever Gateway section">
    Within the settings page, click through to the **Hello Clever Gateway** section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your credentials">
    Fill in the following fields with the values from your Hello Clever Merchant Portal:

    * **APP ID (Production)**
    * **Secret Key (Production)**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the API environment">
    Optionally set the **API Environment** to **Sandbox** if you are testing on a dedicated test website. Use **Production** for your live store.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save changes">
    Click **Save Changes** to apply the configuration.

<Note>
  The Sandbox API Environment is only for dedicated test websites. Contact your Hello Clever Account Manager to request sandbox credentials. Keep your APP ID and Secret Key confidential to maintain secure integration.

## Enable express checkout

Hello Clever’s Express Checkout feature displays a checkout button directly on product pages. This lets customers complete purchases without navigating through the standard cart flow.

**Features:**

* Reduces checkout steps and cart abandonment
* Displays cashback offers directly on the product page
* Shows an express checkout popup when the customer clicks the button

### Before you begin

1. **Update all plugins**: Go to **WordPress Admin Dashboard > Plugins** and apply any pending updates.
2. **Back up your site**: Create a full backup of your WordPress site before making changes.

### Enable the feature

    In WordPress Admin, go to **Plugins > Installed Plugins**, locate **Hello Clever Gateway for WooCommerce**, and click **Settings**.

  <Step title="Navigate to the Hello Clever Gateway section">
    Click through to the **Hello Clever Gateway** configuration section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable Checkout Express">
    Check the box labelled **Enable Checkout Express**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save changes">
    Click **Save Changes**. The express checkout button will now appear on all product pages once the change is saved.

## One-click checkout

Hello Clever’s One-Click Checkout takes the express checkout experience further by letting customers complete a purchase in a single click, with no additional forms to fill out. This leads to:

* Fewer steps and reduced cart abandonment
* A faster, more seamless purchasing experience
* Higher repeat purchase rates

  One-Click Checkout is currently available for **selected merchants only**. Contact Hello Clever Support to request access for your store.
</Info>

The installation steps for One-Click Checkout are identical to those for Express Checkout. Follow the [Enable express checkout](#enable-express-checkout) section above to set it up. Once Hello Clever Support enables the feature on your account, the one-click flow will be active automatically.
